Just a quick reminder to all fellow forum members that Delta/Northwest Airlines will introduce a $50USD charge for passengers that check-in a 2nd bag when travelling on international sectors to/from the US.
This fee applies to all tickets purchased on or after May 23rd, for travel beginning July 1st.
There are a few exceptions, as listed below:
* First and Business Class passengers
* SkyMiles and WorldPerks Elite members (Platinum, Gold, and Silver)
* Active duty military members traveling on orders
* Passengers who purchased tickets prior to May 23, 2009
* Passengers who are confirmed on a Full Y class Economy ticket.
I also believe that the fee is waived if you are just transiting through the USA, and travelling onwards to destinations within South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico, the Middle East, Africa, Asia & Canada.
If you are unsure as to whether you will need to pay the charge, I would advise you to contact the airline in advance to avoid any surprise at the airport on the day of departure.
Hope this helps.:)

Definitely the right way to gain market shares…..
I will be flying the LAX later this summer, and DL will certainly NOT be an option.
