Improvements to Flight Data Recorders!?

After suggestions in the Air France Thread going slight off topic, I have started a thread on how you would improve the means of flight data recorders.
The obviously improvement seems to be some way of the aircraft transmitting its GPS coordinates upon a certain stimulus.

Carrying on from the AF447 thread,

I’m not convinced a data dump from the CVR would be possible as the voice files would be very large.

However, dumping FDS data should be a relatively easy task.

The next generation of aircraft will transmit loads of parameters real time to the ground. There will be an FRD as a back up and the CVR will remain on board to capture the last 30 minutes of voice. The pilots unions will not allow people to listen in to their conversation live. Would you like your management listening in to you all day at work?

Giblets

Not quite sure how the main thread is going off topic, afterall the FDR data (or lack of) that was sent back to AF and the following discussions are still very relevant.

With this in mind this thread can stay “for now”, but if we have any discussions about the AF disappearance on here, thus having 2 threads running then this one will be locked or deleted.
