You probably downloaded a livery file and not the actual aircraft. When doing the search on avsim, search for actual aircraft.

Hey, i got a problem with avsim. i can download itmes but when i open the folder afyer the download is compleat it jus has pictures and no actual file containing the download if you get me :S

Off-topic, how do you tug a plane back and make it turn? I’m sure it’s possible but I can’t recall.
You dont get to see the tug 🙁 but you need to push Shift + P to go back and if you want to go left and right you immediately push 1 0r 2 after the Shift+P but not at the same time! And the plane doesnt turn on pushback instantly

If I get that then I press F5 to refresh the page (in IE) which usually loads the download box, though not the background screen.

Yes. It fails to open the box and just start to open the file to make it a ‘temporary file.’

I get the problem where it fails to open the download box – i.e. it downloads it but ‘in the background’ and then opens it. It seems to only do that to me on Avsim.
is this the same problem you’re having?

It may be. I always get a little window on every download i do. Not getting the window means the PC is automatically going to Open which doesn’t work on mine. Sorry I cannot help you as I do not know the prob

Do you get the screen asking you if you want to ‘Open or ‘Save the File? If so click on save. I had this prob. If I click on open it don’t even download it sometimes.

I’ve had that a few times as well. I let it open it and then copy all the files to another folder.
Or I right click on the link at the bottom of the download page (the one that says ‘if nothing is happening, or download fails….’) and then click on ‘Save Target As’. Does the trick for me always.
