Well 9W wanted GF to take the 777s for a confirmed wet lease of up to 24 months which GF disagreed to. Ultimately leaving 9W between a stone and a wall. We might now have some 777s in GF c/s parked at BOM.
Not a good time for 9W, it just today lost 13 pilots to Qatar.

Sounds to me like Gulf Air have just realised a hole in ther budget and need to tighten the purse strings.
