Hello there, myself and my dad have just booked easyJet flights down to Bristol (from Newcastle) on 22nd April to get a guided tour of Concorde at Filton. At £12.50 each we thought it was a very good price, and the money goes towards G-BOAF’s future, so that’s a good thing.
Just wondered if anyone else had been on the tour and how they found it ?, do u get to go into the cockpit and get your photo took etc ?. How long are you aboard ?, can you go all the way round the aircraft (in and out) and get pictures ? etc
Any tips in getting there from Bristol Airport ?
Best Regards,
Andy

The tour we were on was the first of the day on a Saturday, there was only seven of us.
As you have to book in advance it is not one of thoughs you wait and see what the weather is on the day.
Reguardless of the weather, enjoy the time there an get some things from the gift shop to remind you of your day with Alpha Fox.

Many thanks for the info, sounds brilliant!. I’ll make sure i have enough batteries/memory cards with me then!. So how many were on your tour ?, it says there could be up to 28, but at this time of year and the fact they have 3 tours a day, i cannot imagime there would be all that many, do they still do the tour even if there are only a few people booked on it ?
Cheers,
Andy

Well worth a visit we we there two weeks ago.
The tour lasts about an hour and a half.
You are collected outside at a dedicated stop for the tour near the Airbus security area. Then you are taken by a small bus for a tour around the Concorde and Brabazon Hangars no pictures aloud untill you arrive at Concorde. There are a number of people who give you the guided tour.
You do get up to the cockpit but only as far as the engineers seat, one of the Concorde team talks about the aircraft from the cockpit side.
The aircraft is in a dedicated area so lots of pictures can be taken and if you as some one they will take pictures for you with the aircraft.
Hope the weather is good and you enjoy the trip, I came up from Jersey in the Channel Islands to do this visit although I was in the area doing other things.

Cheers for the info Mozzer!, i presume there is some kind of terminal building at Filton to report to ?
It mentions on their site: quote “If you are coming by public transport, you will need to join the tour at either the BAWA Centre car park (Wednesday-Friday) or Airbus’ main reception car park (weekends and bank holidays). The number 75 bus runs from the city centre to Filton (Northville Road stop for BAWA, Springfields stop for Airbus) every 12 minutes during the week and on the weekends.Tours leave promptly so we suggest you aim to be at the specified car park 15 minutes before your tour time (stated on your ticket)“
Best Regards,
Andy

Taxi would be expensive as you will be going right across Bristol. You could try the bus shuttle from the airport into Bristol city centre and then bus number 75 is one of a few that goes to Filton & right past the end of the runway.
Check out the First Bus website for the info.
