Police Probe Package On Plane
Gatwick airport was temporarily closed this morning as police investigated a “suspicious device”.
Gatwick airport has now been reopened
Passengers were evacuated from an Emirates flight from Dubai after reports of a package on the plane.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “The aircraft was safely landed at Gatwick Airport and is currently in a holding area.
“All passengers and crew have been evacuated and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit is currently carrying out extensive searches.”
The airport was temporarily closed as a safety precaution but is now open again.
A spokesman said some flights may be slightly delayed but there are no major disruptions.
Anyone know any update as to if anything was found???? (i guess not otherwise it would be all over the media.
