14 yyear old caught with two guns at Cairns Airport

A 14-year-old boy has been charged after two firearms were located in a bag at Cairns Airport.

The Australian Federal Police notified local police at around 6am yesterday.

The boy and his 11-year-old brother were reported to have been flying from Karratha in Western Australia, where the teenager allegedly stole the weapons.

He has been charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and one count each of possession of ammunition, bringing stolen goods in Queensland and possession of tainted property.
