Aircraft leaving LBA at approx 1600 today

Leaving LBA southside at about 1600 today, a dark coloured high wing aircraft was taking off in the opposite direction, looked like it was in military markings. Looked like a CASA CN-235, or could have just been a dark painted civvy Dornier 328. Anyone know?

Did a EZY Flight from AGP divert into LBA?

I would of thought that LPL would be a Better divrsion and if that was bad then DSA.

The aircraft was told to go-around by ATC because of a runway incursion. Because of the poor visibility they had to get the ops vehicle to check the whole runway. The EZY A320 has already been holding for a while and was getting low on fuel – He asked for a straight in approach but because of the ops vehicle checking the runway, which was declined and was put into the hold again. Liverpool’s visibility was also poor so LBA was the safest option.

How long did it take you to come up with that one! Hm….. 😉

Literally nanoseconds. It was that wit I was talking about when we checked in for the AMS flight at work. 😀

I’ll see which divert airports they use.

Hi Rlangham, you are correct it was a CN235 of the Ireland Air Corps (?) I believe. Departed @ 1605 to EIME but no reg showing unfortunately.
