BoB 2: Wings of Victory

The best flight sim ever: Rowans Battle of Britain is getting a full graphics upgrade and will be released next week as Battle of Britain 2: Wings of Victory. Take a look at the screenshots: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/battleofbritainwingsofvictory/index.html?q=battle+of+britain
it looks spectacular. Anyone else here planning on getting this?

Oleg is going to release a BoB but it’ll be a completely new engine and graphics from what i’ve seen so far it’s going to kill this BoB release.

Thanks for that link funhouse. The last post on that thread says it might not be out till christmas. Well Id rather wait and have them take their time rather than rush a release. Heres the homepage of that site: www.shockwaveproductions.com

The way this game looks to be shaping up, I seriously doubt Oleg Maddox is going to take this on with their own BoB game. Their terrain mapping is ok for the russian steppe, but I was rather disappointed at how they did tropical terrain for Pacifac Fighters, I think CFS 2 had better tropical terrain for a lower spec game. Ill bet Oleg Maddox opts for for a more general western air theater game like CFS 3.

Hello mixtec,
I doubt BoB WoV will be released then, not from reading the current postings at the BoB WoV forum, it’s still being worked on.

Funnily enough I was playing BoB for the first time in ages yesterday. Certainly still highly playable – the dogfighting action is still among the best. Looking forward to this new title – the graphics look better even than the Il-2 series!
