Yesterday, RAF Coningsby held an Aviation Enthusiasts’ Day prior to their Families Day today. Limited to 500 pre-paid tickets, we saw the Typhoon for the first time in quantity, now in operational service with three squadrons and a small static was arranged of based aircraft, to which different types arrived during the day to add to the line-up. The weather could best be described as ‘blustery’ but at least the never-ending wind broke up the clouds so we all got photos in sunshine. Interestingly, since No.41 Squadron disbanded with Jaguars, they have now re-requipped with THREE types, Tornado GR.4, F.3 and Harrier GR.9A!

They can probably lock them either way, depending on the wind, to prevent damage.

great pics
Do you know why the Typhoon tail’s have either left or right rudder utilised whilst parked? I’ve noticed this before and don’t know why.
