I’ve been told by a collegue from the airfreight department that Atlas/Polar will stop their scheduled routes to Europe. They will focus on the more lucrative North America > Asia routes. Only chartered planes will still fly to Europe. I do not from what date this will be, but apparantly AMS will see it’s last scheduled flight 27th october.
edited to add: We (DHL) own a good chunk of Polar/Atlas so the source is quite credible.

I do agree you used to see like 1-2 atlas everyday at prestwick.. they are becoming quite rare but apparently they are still promising the 748i. 🙂

I doubt this somehow.. Polar and Atlas are planning to send their 748i’s to Prestwick when they are delivered.
Does Polar/Atlas still visit PIK. Sam? Notice there hasnt been one in a week or 2 they are pulling out of PIK completely, any freight was originally to be roaded to AMS, but, likely to STN now.
by the time they get the 74-8’s they will have almost no European presence.
(Not to mention, PIK will probably be a lush new Wimpey housing scheme by then!!!:()
