According to a newspaper report, a ’20-ton’ airliner of the Chines Shandong Airlines broke down after landing, and the passengers were asked to push it off the runway. It took them 2 hours to push it half a mile.

An airline rep said it was lucky the plane wasn’t larger.

Shades of the old Soviet Union…

Anyone got a cheap tractor and towbar?

But as was discussed in another topic. Those are clearly not passengers. Half of them are in camo and the other half are in what appears to be a military uniform. Utter bull if you ask me.

I’m not even sure such would have happened with the Soviet Union…
Nor do I think that Canadair would like the idea of pushing a plane by the flaps…
