Flybe plan £160m investment for ABZ, 4 or 5 more a/c to join the 190 that does LGW, ~100 jobs. Possible routes to start/restart/be developed MAN, NWI, NCL, LBA, internationally DUS, CDG & “possibly south of France”.
Flyglobespan to launch winter routes from Dec08 to SSH(!), Lanzarote, Gran Canaria. Means ABZ will be “year round” base. Flights weekly.
ABZ not been immune from cuts in freq, despite the robust local economy (due to Big Oil), but the above is good news. Hopefully all will come to pass. 🙂
