A Convair 580, N587X crashed yesterday at Columbus, Ohio killing the three crew. I thought it slightly unusual that the names of the crew were published so promptly after the accident.:(

It’s not the first time something like this has happened

That is most ghastly. To die from such a simple switcheroo.

The control cables were reversed after maintenance on the crash aircraft.

This outfit lost another one not that long ago.

Again, not really. Last week a local GA pilot was killed at noon, his name was released 3-4 hours later. I though that was quick.
As long as the NOK are notified, all okay.
BTW: The USAF has a one hour goal of notifying the media of a crash…of course the names are withheld until families are notified…it can take awhile.

The crash was after noon, newspaper report at 9.01 a.m. presumably relatives had been informed, still seems rather unusual to be so ‘efficient’.

I don’t see any reason why names shouldn’t be released within 24 hours as long as families are notified.
No different from a car crash…
Condolences to all…
