SQ 318 A 380 and quite a few others have diverted into LGW due to earlier problems at LHR (which I believe had a fire alarm go off in the tower!)
Fabulous sight to see it going down the approach-Jet airways,Lufthansa and BMI were a few of the others and a couple of BA shorthaul

Caused alot of disruption though in the process!
Loads of flights snet elsewhere…

Gatwick got the bulk of diversions…
A321 G-EUXG
B77W A6-EBJ
A330 VT-JWE
A319 G-DBCJ
B77W VT-JEK
A380 9V-SKC
A319 G-EUOI
A319 G-DBCD
A319 G-DBCB
A320 G-MIDS
Birmingham got a BA 767 from Istanbul
Stanstead got the Thai flight and an Eva 747 too.
G-BZHB (BA 767) took off from AMS but later returned do to the problem.
Off topic (sort of) – That was apparently the second A380 diversion yesterday – the first being one out in Japan making a landing in Nagoya (NGO).

Nice pic Josh, was so glad it was light and i was looking out the window upstairs when it diverted in.
At least you were right next to it
Has been going out at 12.00 and at 22.00 on a Dover departure(not always an A 380 on the 22.00) –on a clear day we can see it at the back of the house in the distance sometimes closer-that normally happens when its cloudy!!
Glad that you went to see it –good old Dad!!:D

Nice one Josh. I was hoping someone got the evidence. Unless anyone else knows otherwise I think you get the honour of the first A380 pic at LGW.
I have some shots somewhere of the Boeing 777 demonstrator on its first landing at LGW somewhere.
Again they are a long way from what I would like but atleast I have the evidence:)

Well i went up to see it. Unfortunally it was dark and the only place my dad would take me was the crash gate half way down:mad: but meh still saw the beast!

Not the best shot because of the fence, diggers, dark and me being a novice but at least its evidence it was there:p

Grrrrrrrr. I remember the days when div’s youst to come to MAN – back before CAT III anyway.
Can the runways at MAN take the giant beauty yet? I was of the understanding that some of the gates at T2 had/are going to be modified to accomodate it.
