Virgin Brazil?

Hi all,

Am not sure if this has already been mentioned already, but apparently Sir Richard Branson has begun talks to establish an airline which at present is to be called…Virgin Brazil (no suprises there!)

From UK Airport News: http://www.uk-airport-news.info/heathrow-airport-news-250608a.htm

‘Brazil is a very dynamic market and we haven’t paid enough attention to it in the past. We know there is a lot of room to grow given the country’s size and the need to develop the air transportation system for Brazil’s own growth.’

I find this quite interesting because Brazil already has a few low-cost airlines, and there was also speculation that David Needleman, former CEO of JetBlue Airways was also in talks of establishing a similar airline…

Perhaps these two might combine their ideas into one, seeing as SRB did help D.N with ideas for JetBlue, didn’t he?

Yeah I agree steve, soon enough I think we will end up seeing….Virgin Worldwide!:D

One thing I would like to see would be an airline that offers a similar type of product that Virgin America offers but flying within the European market, as I am sure there would be quite a few people that would be willing pay to fly with them, instead of using other LCC’s like EasyJet or Ryanair.

And also, it would be really helpful if they offered a thru check-in facility for those people connecting from Virgin Atlantic flights that are then using another Virgin services to get to their final destination…for example, you could fly from LHR-JFK on VS, and then connect to a VX service to SFO, without having the hassle of collecting your baggage (apart from at customs!) and also re-checking in.
