I flew Manchester to Paris DG in May 1988 on F-GCDI , Air France schedule (AF963) and it was still a pleasure. Fast, clean and comfortable with great in flight service on such a short hop.

I was meeting a George Pick trip to the la Ferte Alais airshow and couldn’t get a departure from Leeds for some reason. Flew home to Leeds on an Air UK F27 via Stansted, Hells Bells what a difference 😮

Brian

I remember my first take off in 727 ..it was exhilarating after flying on DC6’s and Viscounts

Nice to ride in when they were the state of the art in the sixties

I’ve always thought the 727 was one of the prettiest aircraft I ever worked on.

Apparently she was owned by an American Oil company!

In fact co-owned by Gordon P and Ann Getty.

Gordon P Getty is the son of the late J Paul Getty Sr, the American oil tycoon. He’s worth a couple of billion dollars….

Gordon P Getty has no involvement in the oil industry any longer, he’s more interested in opera and wine.

Ah i see!

Well im affraid she has left us! She departed at 12.00 sounded fantastic!

Apparently she was owned by an American Oil company!

Popped up there earlier to catch one of the OHY flights…was hoping for an A300 or MD..but only got the A321, and noticed she had left.

Whilst on that subject… anyone know what happened to the Dalaman flight this evening – seems to have a generous 11hr delay.

Cheers.
