I’m off to Warsaw for the weekend, Am I right in saying that the roof top has a gallery that you can takes photos from?

If so what Lense type woulf be sufficent?

Last time I was in WAW I used a 134-400mm lens. The runway passes in front of the terminal building so it is possible to get some take off shots. The apron entry points are 200-300mm away too.

Some aircraft park remotely so the longer focal length is needed then too but some of the legacy carriers and the LOT 767s park on airbridges virtually below the viewing deck so 200mm is too big then!

I found the sun to be favourable in the morning and late evening.

There are some very good spotting places along the perimeters too. Depends on the wind direction.

There is a rooftop terrace in the old part of the terminal building.
It was close to the domestic entrance so looking from the front of the building to the left side.
Also you may be able to see some interesting government Yak’s and Tuppy’s if you go to the right side of the building and look over the wall.
If you want a beer,go across the street to the Courtyard Marriott,much better than the airport.
