BA 75W at LHR?

Hey all, I was at Heathrow earlier today and while driving by Concorde next to it was a BA 752 fitted with winglets (G-BPEE) I believe! I wish I could of got a photo but was unable to really.

I wasn’t aware BA were planning to fit the 752 fleet with winglets, or is this in preperation for when ‘Open Skies’ launches? Certainly was an interesting sight .

I’ve seen ‘EE’ a couple of times over the last two days at MAN and she was definately lacking winglets, although I can’t wait to see them fitted!

It’s better than I got which is nothing, it also proves to those who wondered why I never got a shot why I couldn’t.

That damn fence ;).

Just back from a marathon run which included LHR and i too was blown away to see a BA 757 with winglets, it is G-BPEK i took a shot of it, but, had to just shoot from inside the van so fence included( crappy fence and the a/c too close to the fence, i doubt any decent shots are possible until it gets moved):

Sure you didn’t see G-BPEK rather than G-BPEE??? ‘EJ and ‘EK are meant to be the first two for Open Skies and are having winglets fitted.

Andy

Very very possible Andy, it looked like ‘E’ but I was driving past at 25/30mph and turning my head to try and get a better look so by all mean’s I may well be wrong…:D

Winglets are approved for the 752, but I haven’t found the B.A. connection yet!

Winglet upgrades

British Airways Boeing 757-200
Although production has ceased, blended winglets are available from Aviation Partners Inc. as a retrofit to increase fuel efficiency and range.[7] Aviation Partners claims improvements of 5% on fuel efficiency and 200 nautical miles (370 kilometers) on range. Winglets on the 757 have only been approved for the 757-200 series as 757-200WL (757-200WingLets), and are pending approval for the 757-300 series.
