Heard on the local traffic news that KL1543 from AMSTERDAM to LBA had been cancelled…

Any idea why?

Just checked the LBA arrivals and it states the beow..

KL1543 AMSTERDAM 2125 Coaches at 23:55

KLM cancelled the flight because of the weather expected at LBA this morning, meaning the 1543 that night stops and operates the 1540 the next morning was cancelled. bmi also cancelled both of their first two Heathrow services. The coaches were from MAN to LBA for the inbound passengers.

“Coaches” usually means passengers are arriving at another UK airport and being transferred by road and I’d be certain that was the case here.As for reason…could be several e.g.too few passengers so flight combined with, say,MAN or BHX or same scenario due tech prob on aircraft, simple shortage of a/c (or crew like one I was on 2 weeks ago!!)…..the possibilities are numerous but I’d think not weather if LBA and AMS were operating for all other flights.Could be out of position aircraft after freak weather over a couple of days.

Deffinatly sounds weather related, although Brussels & Frankfurt have similar wx conditions atm…

Or maybe there just cancelling alot of UK flights because were expecting more bad weather. It looks like it’s heading our way as Ireland is getting battered atm

LOL… 😮 – thats a good 30 hours at least!! – Get them on the Ferry….

Rick

In all honesty though, that really ain’t that much longer then taxiing from the Polderbaan to the D-pier.

I bit more seriously, probably weather related? If I am right the weather in the UK is not that favourable. It is windy here as well! As for the busses, the passengers will probably be bussed to the nearest airport that does have a service.
