Leeds-Bradford gets 1st "northern UK" route to Pakistan

Yes that is what I’ve written which is directly from this BBC story http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/7232826.stm which states “The flights, from £460 return, are the first from a northern airport.”

So the coming up to 18 years of PK operations at MAN, the 10 years of when BA operated to Islamabad from MAN and the 8 months of airblue, plus the 2 or so years of PK operations from GLA actually haven’t happened. Good, accurate journalism on display!

If it was just talking about this airline then “first route to the UK” would be better….

Yes it is badly worded, perhaps they meant it as a first for the airline…?
