Yes that is what I’ve written which is directly from this BBC story http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/7232826.stm which states “The flights, from £460 return, are the first from a northern airport.”
So the coming up to 18 years of PK operations at MAN, the 10 years of when BA operated to Islamabad from MAN and the 8 months of airblue, plus the 2 or so years of PK operations from GLA actually haven’t happened. Good, accurate journalism on display!

Yes it is badly worded, perhaps they meant it as a first for the airline…?
