Come on the 757-200 is a great plane. They use it in the UK for Charter Ops and Jet 2 use it for Sch Ops. BA use it for Domsetic aswell as Europe ops. American’s use it on trans atlantic and also the Trans Continent Runs such as JFK-LAX/SFO. So why didnt Qantas or Ansett or even ANZ concider it as a plane that they could use.
Qantas could actually exicute this plane quite well with a High Domestic Route (SYD to BNE and MEL) aswell as SYD/MEL to PER AKL and CHC. So why wasnt it choosen. Was it Cofig problems maybe didnt carry enough cargo. So my queston is why didnt any Ocenia Airline Choose this one hell of a good plane

It was lauded to both Qantas and Ansett during it’s world promotional sales tour..but as suggested by Lance it was superfluous to their requirements at the time

In early 1996, Kiwi replaced its Boeing 727 with a leased Boeing 757 from the UK-based company Air 2000, later replaced by a Boeing 737.

Because other types were better suited to their requirements, perhaps? 😎
I would say that’s quite possibly the reason. 🙂
