Flybe have announced 23 new routes next summer. How will it achieve this number of new routes given that the BAE 146s will be parked by the end of February, the Embraer ERJ-145s are being shown as for disposal and the earlier Dash8 have already gone.
I know more E-jets are on their way but they only have 12 on order – that doesn’t replaced 13 146s and the 145s. I also know that one new Q400 will arrive each month for the next 15 months or so but that still doesn’t make up the shortfall.
What routes are not being flown next year. I can’t find Manchester-Limoges for instance.

All very interesting……….didn’t expect anything for BRS despite their sponsoring local ITV weather here with the slogan “The South Wests oiginal low cost a/l !!
Looks a bit like an attack on Eastern territory to me.

Ahhh, now that makes sense 😀 cheers for the clarification Mark, the reason I thought Saaber meant the “older” Q400s was because I did hear a rumour they were going to be replaced.

The earlier Dash 8’s have gone? I flew the eldest in the fleet last week, they are all still there.
Also a Dash is arriving every 20 days for the next year, there is plenty of scope for new aircraft. The 146s won’t be gone until early next year & the 145s by April 2009
I think by “earlier Dash 8s” what was meant was the ex BA Q300s, which have all gone now.

So EXT-LBA-ABZ with BE ends I take it from above, and reverts back to operating just EXT-LBA?
Yup, 29th March is the last flight according to the smallprint in the advert on page 20 of The Times today…

Yeah thats right. The Exeter (EXT) flights have been retimed:
Dep EXT – 14:40
Arr LBA – 15:25
DEP LBA – 16:10
ARR EXT – 17:15
Same flight numbers for the above will be kept – BE643/644.
Just had a look for the Exeter to Aberdeen and Exeter to Inverness flights. What actually happens is the flight goes EXT-ABZ-INV-EXT.

Are Flybe expected to carry on pulling routes out of Norwich?
It’s a shame what has happend at Norwich, record numbers of passengers (up 30pc) yet made a 500k loss despite an pre-tax profit of £294,000.
And is this all really down to a £3 airport tax?
By: Craigston_Tom - 27th November 2007 at 13:49
Yeah, I’ve just been looking at flights from LBA to ABZ return in July and I was quoted a whooping £206.98!!! 😮 That is considerably more than my £59.98 that I paid return in December! Infact at that price I’d be able to buy 3 return flights!!
Richard, I saw that on the BBC News website yesterday that British Airways are dropping the LGW route at the end of March. I thought that was quite surprising, when according to the article, they flew approximately 19,000 passengers in October. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7112995.stm
Here is the link for what Richard Taylor said about FlyBE wanted to establish the Aberdeen to London Gatwick link when BA pulls out: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7114961.stm

A shame Tom, looks like you will have to save up for T3 to ABZ in future!!
Should also report Flybe have confirmed interest in taking over LGWABZ, a route soon to be vacated by BA.
BUT FOR GAWD SAKE A 195 PLEASE NOT THE 146!!!!! :diablo:
