LHR Transit??

My cousin and her boyfriend are booked to go to NYC.They have the Hotel etc and are currently looking at flights.

We have a few intiearys but what we want to know is which one is the best.

LBA-LHR-BMI-0655/0815-Arrive at Terminal 1
LHR-JFK-VS-0930/1230-Depart Terminal 3
JFK-LHR-VS-2125/0905-Arrive at Terminal 3
LHR-LBA-BMI-2020/2120-Depart Terminal 1

LBA-LHR-BMI-0655/0815-Arrive T1
LHR-JFK-VS-1400/1650-Depart T3
JFK-LHR-VS-1810/0620-Arrive T3
LHR-LBA-BMI-0850/0950-Depart T1

LBA-LHR-BMI-2015-2125-Arrive T1
LHR-JFK-VS-0930/1230-Depart T3
JFK-LHR-VS-2125/0905-Arrive T3
LHR-MAN-BA-1105/1205-Depart T1

Which is the best option for transiting collecting luggage etc aswell as from the girls point of view shopping for thoose last minute things.

Edit-I have also mentioned EI through DUB from MAN/KLM throught AMS from LBA/LH through FRA or MUC from MAN/BA in WTP from MAN.

Premium Economy on bmi is exactly the same as normal economy, with two important differences:

1) The ticket is fully flexible, so they can change their minds and move to ANY other LBA-LHR flight.
2) They get access to the businesslounge at LBA before their flight.

PE on Virgin is easily the best in the sky atm because its just gone through a refit programme. Lots of info on the VS site.

Make sure they credit the frequent flyer miles somewhere, PE usually yields lots of miles!

They are booker for the 23rd OF NOV and 30thNOV/1st DEC and we have gone for this option

LBA-LHR-BMI-2015-2125-Arrive T1
LHR-JFK-VS-0930/1230-Depart T3
JFK-LHR-VS-2125/0905-Arrive T3
LHR-MAN-BA-1105/1205-Depart T1

They told me to thank you guys for the help that you have given me to tell them etc and are also wanting to know which hotel to stay in the night before the go to NYC and also love to know what Primumum Economy is like on BMI(the ony option left) and Premium Economy is like on VIRGIN.

Once again thank alot for the advice.

The third option sounds most appealing to me. Fly down the night before, spend a night at a Heathrow hotel (the Travel Inn is perfectly adequate) and much less hassle in the morning before the flight to JFK than a 0655 departure from Leeds which would probably spend half an hour in the Bovingdon hold with them worrying about making the connection.

Not sure if bags could be checked through and boarding passes issued for a flight the following morning but if so, even better!

Why not go for the EI option – save the hassle of LHR. An added bonus is that you clear US customs / immigration this side of the pond.

You didn’t list it as such, but I would go for:

LBA-LHR-BMI-0655/0815-Arrive T1
LHR-JFK-VS-1400/1650-Depart T3
JFK-LHR-VS-1810/0620-Arrive T3
LHR-MAN-BA-1105/1205-Depart T1

The layovers in your three options are far too short. (UNLESS the tickets are being bought as one big itinerary through Expedia or suchlike?)
