EMA bmi Question

Do bmi have a self service check in at EMA? I need to know one way or the other because otherwise I would have to check in online, which would mean altering all my travel plans (I have train tickets and planned to leave home in the morning but my flight has been switched to afternoon which could make things tricky if I have to wait to check in before I could leave home).

Thanks Andy, that’s a big help to know there would be no probs with desk check in.

bmi seem a decent airline, their customer service has been good so far.

Oh, now I’ve reread your post I see you’re not departing until early afternoon. EMA shouldn’t be too busy at that time. And still, believe me, no problem with checking in at the desk for the bmi regional flight to BRU.

Don’t worry about the “must use self service or on-line check-in” thing… It won’t happen – maybe because its bmi regional rather than bmi, or maybe because its EMA and its their only route and they don’t have self-service machines. Either way, you’ll be fine checking in at the desk – trust me, I’ve done it several times. EMA security can be a real zoo first thing in the morning due all the Ryanairs, bmibabys and easyJets departing, but bmi regional passengers should be able to use the express line – will save you some time.

Thanks skymonster. If they don’t use the self service check in then that could be a big problem. The website says that if you travel on an economy fare then you have to use internet check in or self service.

Our flight originally was to be at 06:45, so I could have checked in online before we set off the day before (we are to leave on a train at 09:20 – which is a bit of a problem now that our flight will leave at 13:50 so I can’t check in online until the afternoon). This being Scarborough, the trains are rubbish at Sunday.

bmi’s only route from EMA is to BRU. They have one checkin desk at the very right hand side of the checkin hall for this flight and they don’t use self-service checkin. The queue should not be long anyway, as the flight is operated on an ERJ145 or ERJ135.

Thanks aidoair. Online would be a problem for me the night before because I’ll not be at home to get on my computer. If I know I can check in at the airport that’s better.

Yes bmi have self service check-in’s at EMA although you can check in online 24 hours before your flight so you could always check-in the night before online.
