Anyone at MAN Tomorrow (18th Sept)?

Just to let everyone know I’ll be in Manchester tomorrow afternoon. I am flying Stansted-Dublin in the morning, then Dublin-Manchester arriving at 1225. So if anyone is gonna be around, then let me know! I shall be there until the Sun goes down, and then I’m going by train to Leeds to meet up with Mark L.

Also, I will be at LBA on Wednesday morning if anyone is interested!

Cheers for the info Lance! It looks like I’ll be on my own…if anyone else is about then don’t be afraid to come and speak. I’ll probably be one of few 19 year old-ish looking guys, with a black rucksack and large Bigma lense.

….If you could please tell me the bus number, and roughly how to walk there once I get off in the maintenance area?

No problem. 🙂

There’s no direct bus to the AVP during the week. You’ll need to catch the Arriva buses 18 or 20 from stand K (I think) to the Cargo Centre and walk from there.

The 18 leaves the airport bus station at 20 and 50 minutes past the hour and the 20 leaves at 12 and 42 minutes past.

Ask the driver to put you off at the first stop in the Cargo Centre.

When you get off the bus, to the right of the bus stop you should see a set of steps leading up the grass bank. There will probably be rabbits here – they don’t bite.

Make sure you check out the times of the buses back to the Airport before you leave the bus stop.

Go up the steps, and turn right at the top. Cross the road (carefully!!!) and carry on with the LSG Sky Chefs food factory on your right.

You’ll see a black and yellow gate at the end of the lane just after Sky Chefs. Go through (well, around) this, and then turn left down Wilmslow Old Road ie, away from the pub.

Be careful, as there are stretches of road with no footpath and a couple of rather dodgy blind bends.

The AVP is at the end of the road. I can do the walk in about 10-15 minutes, so you should do it in less.

Sorry to hear that Lance…any chance you could provide me with information on how to get to the AVP from he terminal? I’ve done it with you once before but can barely remember. If you could please tell me the bus number, and roughly how to walk there once I get off in the maintenance area?

Are you hunting Aeroflot DC-10s by any chance, Dan? 😎

Unfortunately I’ll be in work tomorrow. 🙁
