A Virgin Blue Boeing 737 carrying 120 passengers and six crew has made an emergency landing in central Queensland.
The pilot noticed a light in the cockpit indicating there was a fluid leak in one of the engines during the flight from Brisbane to Hamilton yesterday.
In keeping with standard procedure, the aircraft diverted to Rockhampton and landed without incident
The passengers disembarked while engineers checked the faulty engine and a replacement aircraft was brought in from Brisbane to take the passengers to their destination

Agreed… this was not an Emergency.

I always think that if an aeoplane lands”in accordance with procedures” the word EMERGENCY is somewhat hackneyed. Surely “precautionary” would be less dramatic. Of course that is not what the journo’s want to use as it doesn’t sell papers:rolleyes: :rolleyes:
