Spacing Across The Atlantic

Morning all

I wonder if someone could help me?!

What is the usual spacing between heavies flying over the Atlantic. Vertical & Horizontally?!

On the North Atlantic Tracks, it’s 1000ft vertically. Parallel or near parallel tracks are separated by at least 60nm, 1 degree of latitude. Aircraft at the same level on the same track are spaced 10 minutes apart in trail.

Its 1000ft vertical as its now RVSM airspace and its 10mins lateral same mach. Or if aircraft behind is .01 mach slower in the cruise its -1 min for every -.01 mach to a minimum of 5min seperation so if first is cruiseing at .85 and second is at .84 you have 9 mins between ,if first is .85 and second is .80 then its five mins. Whatever the time difference at the start it must be 10mins between every aircraft popping out the end of the same NAT at same level.

I believe the general separation for aircraft is 1000 feet vertically and 5 miles horizontally, although I’m not sure whether that applies to transatlantic flights.

That is regualer restriction’s over main land. I think it will be 2000ft vertically and 7 and half miles apart

I think vertical is 2000ft? You have to pick a odd altitude (e.g. 35,000ft) going West Bound and even going East (or is it other way around?:confused:)

Unsure of seperation between times. I know you have a 10 minute window to enter NAT tracks and you have a set maximum speed as per your flight plan so they can make sure no one creeps up on one behind.

Unsure if they stagger it so for example plane 1 is 35, plane 2 is 37, plane 3 is 35, plane 4 is 37 etc etc
