Just looked out my office window after hearing an aircraft at low level and expecting to see an A319 or B737 heading into BFS. Instead, I saw a 747 descending through the clouds at (comparatively) low level and dropping its gear… which in itself was a spectacular sight.
Does anyone know who it belongs to and hat it was doing in Belfast? Last time I saw a 747 en route to BFS was almost 6 years ago. Just checked the website and there’s nothing obvious on arrivals / departures.
Regards
John

Glad you corrected that, wondered what Star you were on!:D Yes 747’s do land regularly at Bournemouth. Back on thread, I couldn’t find any flight tracking for a Kalitta flight into BFS. Of course a registration or flight number would have helped.:)

ARE YOU REALLY SURE THIS IS CORRECT!
From an Airport that is only (currently) capable of accepting regional jets, I find it hardly likely that a 747 could land at LCY. If they did accept one it raises an number of questions!
1 where are they going to park something that big?
2 if they got in in how are they going to get it out apart from on the back of a truck?
I have nbever heard of anything bigger than an A319 even attempting to get into London City!
A picture of course would confirm this but could find any when I google’d it.
