Hello all,
I was wondering about the ex BA Connect ERJs that are now flying about with “Jersey” callsigns and operating Flybe flights. Are the flightdeck crews the ex BA Connect ERJ pilots or are they Flybe piots trained up on the type?
Regards
AJ

They are all crewed by ‘BA Connect’ pilots and cabin crew. As you know BA Connect was bought by Flybe, the crews came with the purchase, so they are now Flybe, as are the aircraft, uniforms, service, flight numbers and callsigns (there is some codesharing with BA but not much). There was no offer of a transfer to Mainline, some ex BAR cabin crew went back to mainline but that was all. The plan is to run the EMB145 til sometime thru 2009. The Dash 8 300’s will be gone end of July this year.

I wouldn’t have thought Flybe had any pilots trained up on the type, seeing as they didn’t operate it prior to buying BAcon… ?
I’d assume BAcon crews were given the choice of transferring to Flybe, retraining with BA mainline or a redundancy cheque ?
