BHX – Advice

Hey all. I’m thinking of going down to BHX for a few hours in July. But is it worth it? I’ve been a couple of times before but can’t really remember much about the airport. I also think i’m correct in saying the aviation shop place has shut down?

Regards,

Gaz

I visited BHX in March when I was up that way with my grandparents. Although the shop and observation deck is impressive, I wouldnt rate it highly for movements because I was there for about 5 hours and all I saw was an Emirates 767, a couple of KLM Fokker 70’s, several BACON ERJ’s and the same Flybe Dash8 (G-JEDI) that departed, returned and then departed again…I eventually got bored so decided to go back home!

Sorry if this disapoints you, it isnt meant to put you off, but just thought I would give you my opinion to save you the time and cost of the journey, if you decided not to go! But hey, you may go and have a great time, who knows?

The shop on the observation deck at BHX is now run by AirTrans (who run long-established EMA enthusiasts shop) rather than by [cough, cough] Ian Allan!
