Which does bring me nicely onto a proper question, can the A380 land at SXM in reality or not?

As far as I understand the A380 can physically fly into anywhere a 747 can. It’s just a case of whether the airport has the ground handling facilities needed by the 380.

There is also the issue of widened runways because of engine overhang…i know Melbourne and Sydney had to upgrade their runways and taxiways
