Hi One & All,
Another one of my infrequent postings on “Commercial”, rather than in my usual home of “Historic.”
My office is above Gatwick South Terminal, and for the last couple of months or so I have occasionally seen a B 757 here (sorry can’t tell you which variant as they all look the same to me, unlike Spitfires ;), in what appears to be a “partial” Monarch livery, but with red “hedkandi” (? sp)titles on the fuselage, and an image of a dark haried young lady on the tailfin.
Can anyone enlighten me – is this a specially marked Monarch aircraft (if so why?), or is it a new airline altogether?
Cheers

Anyway, all modern airliners look the same to me – I lost interest in brightly coloured aluminium tubes many years ago, that’s why I hang around “Historic” more than Commercial 😀
Whatever floats your boat. Or should I say, flies your plane. 🙂
I have to say I’m much more a fan of commercial aircraft, but the Spitfire is one of the most beautiful, graceful aircraft I’ve ever seen in the air (along with the DC-3). Nothing, for me though beats standing under the approach to LHR’s 27R as several hundred tons of 747 sails over your head. My jaw literally dropped the first time I experienced that!

Thanks for the answers
Thanks chaps – not being a regular on the “Commercial” board I missed the earlier thread.
Have just caught up with the old thread (thanks for the link Newforest), and followed the link to the Monarch Website – now it’s all clear. Think I’ll steer well clear of that service, I’m closer to needing a special “SAGA” themed flight than a “Club 18-30” type service .

Paul
Very simple, Monarch have rebranded one of their B757’s this summer to promote their 5 times weekly service to Ibiza from LGW, LTN, MAN & BHX.
This link should provide you with some more information:

Perhaps someone else might have more information, or be able to correct me if i am wrong
