HAVING sex in a Boeing 777’s toilet was a couple’s idea of sky- high romance.
They were celebrating their engagement on a flight to Jamaica – but it was what happened in the passenger cabin that landed them in court yesterday.
Trevor Blake, 44, and his 26-year-old girlfriend Nicola Fitzgerald admitted hurling drunken abuse at cabin crew when they were refused any more drink.
Both were handcuffed and 6ft 1in Blake was also put in leg restraints. His girlfriend became hysterical at the cabin crew’s reaction to Blake’s behaviour, Brighton Crown Court was told.
The couple faced a six-day trial for their behaviour which alarmed the 300 other passengers on the flight – but they changed their pleas at the last minute.
The court heard that the 777 airliner from Gatwick had to be diverted to Bermuda where the couple were met by 15 police – and put on another jet back to Britain.
After being quizzed by British police, they took another flight to Jamaica where they got engaged.
It was on their return to Britain that they told of their “mile high” experience on the plane.
Blake pleaded guilty to causing an affray and Fitzgerald admitted being drunk on an airplane.
The couple, from Luton, Beds, were remanded on bail for sentence until June 8. Blake was told that he could face prison.
I am not sure wether Boeing would be pleased or disappointed by your article. Pleased because there is room in the 777 loo for a sexual encounter or displeased because the aircraft in the picture is blatantly neither a 777 or even a Boeing. Perhaps sales of the A380 would improve if Airbus could prove that sex is easily possible in their toilets.
…picture of Airbus A380 showing instead of the 777 fro the article.

Me too.
I also remember when asking someone politely to calm down and behave in an appropriate manner got you an apology rather than an earful of abuse and a smack in the mouth. Happy days indeed.

British movie star Ralph Fiennes is at the centre of a mile-high sex scandal after he allegedly became amorous with an Australian flight attendant during a long-haul flight
A 38-year-old Qantas stewardess has lost her job after fellow crew members allegedly spotted her and Fiennes leaving the same aircraft toilet cubicle moments apart, The Sunday Telegraph said.
In a statement lodged with her employer and obtained by the paper, Lisa Robertson said the actor had become “amorous” with her after the pair chatted together during a flight from Australia to India late last m
“While conversing with Mr Fiennes during my break, I expressed a need to go to the toilet,” Robertson said in her statement. “I went to the nearby toilet and entered it, he followed me and entered the same toilet.
“I explained to him that this was inappropriate and asked him to leave. Mr Fiennes became amorous towards me and, after a short period of time, I convinced him to leave the toilet, which he did.
“I left the toilet a short time later.”
The newspaper was unable to get a comment from Robertson, but a spokesman for Qantas confirmed that a flight attendant had been dismissed following an onboard incident.
Fiennes was in Australia in January to perform at the Sydney Festival. He and his long-time partner Francesca Annis separated last year.

Tststs! I guess I can remember times when being drunk etc etc didn’t cause some pompous flight crews to go into “security” frenzy mode instead of telling the idiot to shut up. All that efforts and ressources! Police, courts, lawyers – the system really feeds itself. And didn’t know airliners have shackles aboard!
Its common practice for most service industries with any form of security risk/theme to have handcuffs.
You shoplift at any major UK store and if you resist the security guards will cuff you and take you their own inhouse cells. Virgin and HMV are biggest user of inhouse cells in the UK…
At all UK events we, event security, carry restraint kits or for festivals etc handcuffs. We will use them whenever we need to or some just for the fun of it!
There is indeed a small conference dedicated to supply airlines with restraint kits which is open to the public.
Even the train and bus company drivers/onboard staff are trained in restraint kit use and keep several kits onboard.

Some people lose all their inhibitions when an over indulgence of alcohol is involved.. however that does not excuse their actions toward the cabin crew
