dark light

wing flaps

could some 1 shed some light on this ,i was on the gadair /hola airlines flight that is on lease to thompsonfly back from palma to doncaster on the 8th may .once boarded i noticed a flap on top of the wing was raised all the time we was on the ground. it was lifting and dropping it was not till we got to the threshold of the runway did it return down and stay down . i know the flaps are intended to spoil lift over the wing on lading but why have it up when sat on the stand any one know .thanks in advance

It was probably just part of the pre-flight checks. At some point during pushback/taxi the speedbrakes, ailerons and rudder will all be moved to their full extent just to check everything’s in order.

If it was on top of the wing then it was probably the speed brakes

it was on top of the wing and just before push back they lifted a row of them the 1 that was up all the time was almost in line with the engine .the aircraft in q was the gadair 757-200 which is on page 9 of the june mag

If it was on the top of the wing and streched nearly the entire length then it would be the airbreak.(Spoiler)

If it was on the edge of the wing then it would be aileron.

Please someone correct me if i am wrong
