There is the Romper pub on the lane to the AVP. Good food and good ale. I was carried out of there once! (I managed to crawl the other times!)

WOW!, I have not kept up with the work on ZK, she looks FANTASTIC!, I have got to go and see.
Thanks for the tips, looks like at least some of my day hanging out at MAN will be filled, not being a ‘spotter’ 9 hours at an airport can drag on a bit!
Anywhere good to eat at the AVP, is there a cafe or bar?

It is possible to walk, took me 45 mins each way from T3. I would have caught the AVP bus, but missed it by a few mins, so had best part of an hour to wait so decided to walk instead.
Did see Neil (Trident Man) being very busy on ZK last Saturday. Have to admit, he deserves a medal for the work he’s done on ZK, she looks superb. Last time I saw ZK she was lying in bits at LHR.

Neil is somewhere under the second set of steps working away.

I have a 9.5 hour wait at MAN next month:eek: , on a Friday. If there are no buses on weekdays is it possible to walk from the terminal, does anyone have a map? Thanks.
The cargo terminal bus does run on weekdays. Runs about every 20 minutes or so.
However, there is a bus directly to the avp that only runs on weekends. Called the 201 or something. Either way the cargo terminal bus will get you to the avp.

I think that buses 18 and 20 both go to cargo centre from Airport Bus Station. From there, I always walk back towards the main road and walk along the footpath which takes you to the lane up to AVP. There may be short-cut that the locals may know, though.
The short cut is as follows:
Insted of walking back towards the perimeter road, walk awy from it towards the MYT hangar. As the road turns left, towards the security gate there is a road to your right that leads to the Romper Pub. Walk up this road and the AVP is sign posted from there. If you get horribly lost just ask for the Romper, sod the aircraft have a meal and a beer!!
