I have no notes on the attached photos. I believe they are all from the same airshow, but I could be wrong. I think it’s North Weald in the mid 1990s. Can anybody fill in some/all of the details?
Some of the details haven’t scanned well. The yellow trainer (Mentor?) has 33340 on the tail. The cubs are carrying 329601 and D-EONH, plus there’s a homebuilt (VP1?) G-TEDY and one of the Beech 18s is N5063N.

Do you know what the Luftwaffe aircraft next to the T34 is? Also I’ve got some photos of Diamond Lil in the air. I think it’s the same event. Was Diamond Lil at that event?
The ‘Luftwaffe’ aircraft is a Putzer Elster B (sp?), G-APVF I believe.
Diamond Lil should have been at the Fly-In but had blown an engine a few days earlier and didn’t make any more UK show appearances before heading back home. She was at the International Air Tattoo at Boscombe Down and at Biggin Hill.
FWIW aircraft I have listed from the North Weald event are:

Undoubtedly North Weald.
I think it was the USAAF Fly-In in June 1992.
The T-34 is N34AB
Cub 43-29601 is G-AXHRMost of Dave Gilmour’s and Rob Lamplough’s based aircraft were out for the show – the tail of N51RR is visible in one picture, as well as some of the Aces High fleet, e.g. Dolly, Ju52, Vultee BT-13. G-SUSY also visited. There were about 4 Beech 18s present including Beech Belle and Southern Belle plus a similar number of T-6 and Stearmans.

From the same batch of photos, Dave Gilmour’s Gnat, a couple of Vulcan shots, a couple of Mitchells, a Liberator, a Mustang, an Avenger and a couple of Harvards. I don’t know when/if I’ll find time to scan them in.
If I can beg/borrow/steal a usable slide scanner I’ll get some stuff from other shows scanned in.

I can’t imagine the unkind comments were to be taken seriously. Mine certainly wasn’t!
Oh believe me, some were very unkind. Think one chap complained to Anthony Hutton and wasnt seen again! It was nothing to do with The Squadron, it was just between me and Paul. As simple as that. I’ve had it since when having other flights, but you get to ignore stupid comments. Some people want something for nothing and I’m afraid it doesnt always work like that.
Best wishes,
Martin

Hands up if you hate T6flyer!
Come on, not eveyone at the same time, I cant count that high:)
The flights were ‘payment’ for researching the histories of the two aeroplanes. I was first asked to do the Chipmunk (BBMV) and then the T-6G (DDMV). When discussing something on the phone one night about the latter, Paul very kindly offered the P-51 at the same time. What an offer and what a kind gentleman. He will be missed by a lot of us.
But I have to admit there were a lot of envious people that day and some very unkind comments were made my way. But thats life, isnt it!
Best wishes,
Martin

If it was the USAAF Fly-in and I think it was judging from the photos, the exact date was the 28 June 1992. I know this as this was a red letter day for myself having rides in Paul Morgan’s G-SUSY and DDMV.

It looks like one of the Fly-ins held at North Weald..
The way the aircraft are laid out, it is not an airshow..
