I just wanted to let everyone know about this to help raise funds for this aircraft and to see if anyone would be intrested in a print. SORRY did not know where to post this.
On 8 December 2006, Qantas Boeing 707-138B registration VH-XBA lifted off from Southend in the United Kingdom bound for Australia and the Qantas Founders Outback Museum at Longreach. After many years on the ground at Southend, this aircraft became the focal point of a preservation effort by the Qantas Foundation Memorial, the airline itself and the Australian government. Originally registered as VH-EBA, this aircraft was the first jet on the Australian civil register and was the first shortened 138 series 707 built by Boeing in 1959 and thus is of enormous significance to Australia’s aviation history.

The Painting
What Steve Leadenham is trying to do is raise money to help with funds for the Aircraft. This painting is now available as a limited edition run of 250 prints. The overall print size is 80 x 40 cms and part of the proceeds from sale of the prints will be donated to the Qantas Foundation Memorial to assist with upkeep of VH-XBA going forward. So if anyone is intrested in buying a print please get in touch with Steve.
