Hello folks,i was thinking of going to MAN for a day during the easter holidays,i think the level 13 car park is closed so it’s looking like the AVP,jus one question i have is if it’s lashing out can i got to level 11 on the car park or is there cover at the AVP,and if anyone had a link to the buses that go round to the cargo terminal as i can’t seem to find the company tht runs them?

I’m sure it was closed when I was there last week.

Hmm… Come to think of it, it was closed last Saturday when I was there. Hopefully it’ll be open again by April though!

At the AVP there’s a portacabin with info on Concorde and various other aircraft you can hide in if the heavens open

I was quite worried when I first when due to the limited info on pub transport for MAN aiprort, even traveline didn’t know!

The cargo centre bus is very frequent and a very easy walk to the AVP. The worst bit is finding yourself out of there (walk towards the giant monarch hanger) then it’s fine. We ended up getting the direct bus back to the airport rather than from the cargo centre, one of the locals told us about it, comes around every hour.

As Paul says the shelter is quite good. It tipped it down so bad when I went, theres a little heater in the Concorde Info place that me and a friend crowded round (teehee), so no worries there! 😉

Hi Gary,

You can go to level 11 which still offers some reasonable views! At the AVP there’s a portacabin with info on Concorde and various other aircraft you can hide in if the heavens open (which, being MAN is more than likely. :diablo:) The little food cabin has some shelter outside but it tends to get a little crowded if there are a few people around, and you can also have a wander around the aviation shop. I can’t remember the name of the company who runs the busses to the Cargo centre, but they run quite regularly and you can always ask when you arrive, so you shouldn’t have any worries getting there.

Hope that helps.

Paul
