Last night, an Air Mauritania 737 was hijacked by a lone hijacker who wanted to fly to France. The plane carrying 71 passengers and 8 crew landed in Tenerife. There were unconfirmed reports that several people had been injured by gunfire and one suspect was in custody.
Edit. The plane landed at the military base of Gando in Las Palmas. The pilot braked hard and the armed hijacker was overpowered. Some passengers were injured in the rapid braking but not by gunfire.
