How is the weather affecting your local?

I know this has been done many of times but up here at LBA its only just started snowing about 2 hours ago… (9/2/07 approx 2 pm). Looking at the arrivals all seems to be ok with the odd diversion. After listening to the scanner they are clearing slowly and some taxiways are in small covering but the a/c are still using them.

I was just wondering how the rest of your locals are coaping?

Don’t scare me like that. Saw the thread title and thought there might be a risk of the pub being shut. 😡

Always amazed how the snow in Winnipeg, Canada (YWG) doesn’t make any difference to flight operations. Even when it’s -40 celcius. There’s an area on the airport where they spray the aircraft down with glycol just before they take off.

Went for a flight up north once (bloody cold because the heater wasn’t working). The pilot used a fan-belt to scrape the ice droplets off the wing. Said that it was the best tool he had found to do that.

Looking forward to summer- only 2 to 3 months away!

No problems here, it’s positively spring-like and my daffodils are starting to push through !

Go straight to the nearest Hospital Allen that sounds serious!!
