BA Cabin Crew Strike?

Just saw news flashing on CNN that BA has cancelled over 700 flights due to Cabin crew strike?

Any more news on this, I was scheduled to arrive into LHR on 31st Jan, but now have rescheduled everything.

Are you still going to fly Kabir?

I hope BA dont stop refunding passengers who requested it before today so they could rebook on another service!

Qantas will carry hundreds of passengers affected by next week’s mass strike by British Airways cabin crew.
Australia’s national carrier has agreed to fly any BA passengers scheduled to travel between London and Australia during the planned strike on Tuesday and Wednesday.
BA cancelled all passenger flights out of Heathrow Airport for the two days after failing to resolve a bitter dispute with cabin crew over sick pay, wages and staff levels.

All BA domestic and European flights to and from Gatwick airport also will be grounded.

About 150,000 passengers are expected to have their travel plans disrupted as a result of 1300 flights being cancelled by Europe’s third-largest airline.

A Qantas spokeswoman said BA passengers booked on flights bound for either London or Australia during the strike would be able travel with Qantas. “No Qantas flights have been rescheduled,” she said. “We have managed to accommodate our customers. If they are code-sharing on a Qantas-BA flight, we have managed to put them on a Qantas aircraft.”

A Sydney airport spokesman said he did not expect the BA strike to have any effect at Australia’s busiest airport. “It will not impact on us,” he said.

BA passengers caught up in the strike also have the option of claiming a full refund on their tickets, rebooking their flights for another date or travelling with a different airline.

BA chief executive Willie Walsh hopes last-ditch talks with the Transport and General Workers Union could still prevent the strike going ahead.

Passengers could face more disruption next month if BA’s 14,000 cabin crew are not happy with negotiations.
