Possible Incident at Blackpool Airport?

Hi,

Was bored today…. so i me and our lass thought we would go out for a drive over to the cost for something to do…!! lol…

Anyway… as we passed Blackpool Airport we saw 5 police cars with blues and twos followed by 3 Fire engines entering the main entrance to the Airport / carpark.. Was unable to stop and “rubberneck” not that i would….

Has any one heard anything??

They have an onsite team as does any commerical airport (required by CAA).

They would bring in additional teams at request of the senior fire officer or like belfast city it might be built into plan for all emergency landings and includes police and ambulance.

Thanks for the info..

Does Blackpool airport not have a on site Fire team rather than pulling the local brigade in?? As when i saw the local police and Fire teams, i thought it could of been a terminal issue??

Cheers

I understand that the aircraft in question was Cessna 401 N401JN.

Interesting that the plane belongs to the owners of Jet Provost G-BWGF based at Blackpool.

Had a look at it today, all blades on starboad prop bent , bit of a scuff on the tip tank and a few other paint scuffs and thats about it!

Happily, there do not seem to be any reports of injuries.

Heard a light twin had an undercarrage collapse on landing – not sure of any more details than that.
