All go with the winds today.
Saw what looked like a Flybe 146, could have been doing a missed approach late morning.
Also a FlyBe Q400 is parked up on the east side. So too is an all-white 146 with discernible markings (too far away to get an ID).
About 1330, a Thomsonfly 737 7602G made three attempts at 23. The wind was gusting up to about 50 knots about 30-40 degrees off to the right of the runway. Each attempt was thrown away, stemming from the rotor (windshear) generated by the proximity of the building to the west. After the first attempt, he negotiating weather details with the Tower for East Mids….
Just before the 3rd approach another inbound Thomson 737 744J was vectored in behind. 7602G threw away his 3rd attempt and went to East Mids. 744J threw away his first attempt and also went to East Mids.
Hope both got down safely.
