Loganair Question….

Hey,

I was just looking on a.net at some Loganair pics and noticed all their Saab 340’s have been painted in an all white scheme.

Why is this??…..Has their franchise with BA ended??

Thanks for any infos,
Rich:cool:

If one did a search, there was, a good few months ago, an indepth discussion on this subject such as the implications of giving up the franchise and I (think) I remeber news that Loganair were giving up the franchise in the latter stages of this decade, certainly one of BAs franchisee’s were.

I wonder just who knew about BA’s advance plans for the regional business when they sold Loganair another franchise and just how soon after that Loganair found out that BA’s regional wing was going to get sold ?

Sounds a bit like BA could have been a little more forthcoming with the smaller airline/franchisee’s like Loganair, maybe more so than insisting they didn’t quite like Loganair’s Islanders bearing BA livery…

According to Jethro 8 are in BA colours, 4 in plain White and 1 in basic Moldavian colours.

as they maybe looking to replace some of the Saab’s with other turboprops ( likely DHC8)

I believe BA Connect/FlyBe will have some looking for homes soon. Even come complete with BA colours.

The BA franchise , there was a rumor that they might be giving that up , but again that is still to be decided,

The white Saab’s were supposed to be painted last year, but they never got around to doing so and may never get to as they maybe looking to replace some of the Saab’s with other turboprops ( likely DHC8)

Loganair acquired (three) aircraft from Skyways Aviation for example
during 2005.

That’s why G-LGNI is still in Moldovan Airlines colours.

There’s no imperative to apply BA colours ….. obviously.
