Hello all,
Well just a quick post to tell you about a very minor incident which happened at EDI at around 9 a.m. I was listening to the airband radio (as you do at that time in the morning) and suddenly I hear the tower announcing that they may have a fire in the control tower and they may have to evacuate. About 30 seconds later, all aircraft on the ground wanting push and start clearance were told to stand by and not contact the tower. Landing aircraft were not affected. About 2 minutes later and EasyJet flight inbound was given landing clearance and told to park up stand 7 as the tower personnel really needed to evacuate. A massage was posted on ATIS telling all starting planes to standby and all landing to contact Scottish on 126.3. This ran for about 15 minutes until the incident was resolved and operations were restored with an AF flight to Paris being allowed to depart.
Regards
AJ
