I went upto DUB yesterday but couldnt get a parking spot there was hundreds of people out watching the dodgy landings.

Woah, seems like some aircraft had a lot of fun 😉 Must be great to spot in windy weather, if you’ve got a car, and a heater!

Woah Gary, that ducting looks lethal 😮

Just to give everyone an idea of what the winds were like here in dublin over the weekend, here’s what i was “suprised” to find lying in front of where i lock my bike in college(see attachment). The ducting is about 3-4ft tall & approx. 5 feet wide.I went to move it to see how heavy it was & i’d say it was about 30-40kg’s,plenty to kill you if you happened to be standing there while it was blown off the roof. It’s a shame i couldn’t get to the airport, seeing all those dodgy landings!

Weather forecast very bad on and off all this week. Winds were incredible in Bangor yesturday, I stuggled to walk anywhere!

We were watching some rugby at Headingley stadium in Leeds yesterday. Departures were interesting – some amazing drift was being encountered. The props were really struggling.
Indeed the Ulster v Leinster match was not helped at all by wind on Saturday. We have Irelands best kickers but they were unable to impress due to the wind!
I am a bit worried given i am flying DUB-LHR on Friday and LHR-DUB on Sunday and the weather predictions are not exactly rosy! Mind you if we diverted to BHD on way back it would save me 3hrs travelling and get me a free return economy flight with bmi – roll on bad weather at Dublin! (Obv from Sat onwards!) 😀 :dev2: :diablo:

I nearly got hit by a tree on the way to the airport! I had to come straight back because I couldnt get a place to park for spotting because there was hundreds out.
I dropped my mam and dad to the the airport at 5am for an EI flight to BCN and luckily they got out. The wind was fine then just a flash of lightning.

CSA also diverted into BFS from Dublin.
Before I left for work just after midday, latest winds at Dublin were gusting to 55kts.

The weather here was perfect today, but yesterday was a different story, with heavy snowfall pretty much all day long.
But it’s business as usual at the rather-dead Gwangju airport.

Ye were are having it very bad EI and some other carriers diverting all over the place.
A quick look at the flight info shows EI flights cancelled to BRS, MAD, LHR, EDI, AMS, CDG,MXP, KRK,BUD.
The early flights coming back to DUB both EI and FR havnt even landed yet.
Aer Arann are the worst effected with ALL flights cancelled.
LG, BD also cancelled and all BE flights but strangely enough WOW flight is on the wat lol.

A few LHR bound flights have gone into AMS. Not sure if that is due to strong headwinds (bingo fuel) or due to the weather at LHR. From what I have heard at least 1 Qantas 747 and 1 Singapore Airlines 747.

There was also an “early doors” diveriosn to MAN – QF001 from Heathrow.

Extreme gales and heavy rain over GLA just now, in fact it’s been bad for several days. I watched a few go arounds from my window but haven’t looked into how traffic is being affected generally.

I think BFS has taken around 8 Aer Lingus diversions from DUB. Also BMA125 diverted to BHD from Dublin.

Just the small matter of a deep polar front low, associated front and high wind values. 😀 The following picture is quite unusual as it hints at not one but two further secondary lows being born.

Must be over S. Ireland I take it as EZY553 from NCL-BFS is going alright and so is the FlyBe Dash 8 to Belfast City, Winds in Newcastle are quite high and its pouring down!

The winds in Dublin are terrible. We’ve already had a Swiss diversion from Dublin.
