Is Air India supposed to be the next Worldliner customer after PIA?
When are they supposed to get the planes?
Where would they fly?
What interior would they have? (Air India, unlike PIA, has first class in their 747-s.)
And when will the other Worldliner customers (Emirates, EVA, Air Canada, Delta… who else?) get their planes?

Air India has released their Worldliner seatmap.
It has 8 F seats, 1-2-1, and 35 business class seats 7 abreast. Economy is 9 abreast, allegedly at 34 inch pitch.
Any additional interior details?
When do the Worldliners arrive?
Which routes would they fly?
If its 34-inch, then that would be comfortable. I think they will be used on the North American routes.

A380 comes into the picture in that way:
Emirates thinks that the width of 10 abreast in B-777 is adequate, and the ability to have a large number of seats is useful.
10 abreast B-777 is actually about as wide as 11 abreast in A-380.
Therefore, it would also suit Emirates to put 11 abreast seats in A-380.
Right?
Yes and No . Going 11 abreast on Y class aboard a A380 might seem only logical since they are doing it with those T7’s however we’ll have to wait and see what routes they plan to operate them on and at what frequency . They are making a big leap from the T-7 (380 odd in 3 class and 430 odd in 2 class) therefore added capacity ( over and above the nearly 40% of that of the T7 to the A380) might not be needed for the short to mid term (if ever at all) .
The Emirates’ A380s have been ordered in three configurations:
– low-density, long range three-class 489 seater
– low-density, medium range three-class 517 seater
– higher-density, medium range two-class 644 seater
Looking at those figures I really dont see them being quoted @ 11 abreast ! The reason why we cannot assume the fact that they’ll take a fancy to 11 abreast just because they took it on the T-7 ( to 10 abreast) is because the 434 seats that they get in 10 abreast are very “FILLABLE” and the economy offered (interms of RASM-CASM) very controlable however it might just be a bit hard to sell close to 700-750 seats for every flight (basic principle of Decreasing RASM) at a reasonable price to justify the going 11 abreast .

However they love going 10 abreast on their T-7’s and I can tell you through expereince that I’d travel in a 10 abreast Economy seat of EK over a vast majority of the airlines out there operating 9 abreast with the T-7. I dont know where you bring the A-380 into the picture but Clark is on record of saying how much they love the 777 and how it is giving them better results then what boeing had promised them . Just imagine the Economies of a twin when you can have your ASM that high (with 434 seats) .

Also: the 17 inch width and 2 inch armrests for 10 abreast gives 59 inch triple seats in the sides, 78 inch 4-seat block in the middle, 2 17-inch aisles.. totalling 230 inches, which can be found in 777. Now do the computation for 11 abreast… 5-seat block in the middle would be 97 inches, adding the 59-inch side blocks and 17 inch aisles should give 249 inches.
Emirates allready has 10 Abreast on their 777’s which ammounts to 380 seats on their 777-3ER’s in a 3 class setup and a whopping 434 Seats in a 2 class set up . Their 200’s also have 10 abreast with both 2 and 3 class configurations . IMO they’ll go 3 class since the routes are Long distance Point to Point however they can still accomodate quite a bit of Passengers with that configuration.
Which airliner has 249 inches width on main deck? Emirates has bought a plenty of them… suitable to carry coolies or backpackers…

Regarding their Seating I Beleive (only an opinion and not fact) that EK will have 2 Class seating with Y class being 10 abreast just like their 300ER’s which are making so much money for them (with over 400 PAX ) . The EK Y class at 10 abreast gives 17 inch width with 34 inch seat pitch although they might like to go for a more comfortable Y class for Longer routes and choose to go 9 abreast with a 18 inch seat seat width although the economies of a 10 Abreast 777 are not something just letting go off !
Delta – will reveive their’s in Jan 2007
Ah. So no First Class on Emirates Worldliner?

Yup EVA switched their 3 777-200LR orders to 2 777F’s and 1 -300ER .
As for the other customers, Air Canada, Emirates, Qatar… what exactly is the status of EVA and Delta?
EK – will receive theirs starting 2007

Well EVA have today asked Boeing to change their 777-200LRs to 777Fs. They want 13x 777-300ER and 2x 777F.

What about interiors and routes?
As for the other customers, Air Canada, Emirates, Qatar… what exactly is the status of EVA and Delta?
When would Emirates get theirs?
