Watched the AN22 take off this morning, quite a sight & what a great sound too.
Also had the opportunity to look around it yesterday, I think it’s everything you’d expect, very impressive, very Russian & very 60’s.

Is it me or are the russian freighters becoming ever more prevelant in UK airspace? What are they shipping? Munitions to Iraq and toys from China?
Anteus is coming to pick up a 42 tonne generator rotor for a power station in Madras.
They do a lot of runs with vehicles/rations etc for the support of the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Then there are a lot of charters carrying general goods like Playstations and other electronic gear for the Christmas rush. Another is the annual Beaujolais run from France to Japan and other cargos have included elephants and other wildlife.
They are utilised on a vast range of cargos and destinations for many varied people.

bring it back to EMA
no, please don’t. it would mean that i would find it very hard to resist the temptation of making another trip to the airport, when i really should be getting on with Uni work. 😀 😀 😉 :diablo:

****** STN, bring it back to EMA, I didn’t get a very good picture last time because it was pouring down with rain when it departed! 😉
