Airbus could delay A350 rollout to 2014 – report
LONDON (AFX) – Airbus may delay the rollout of its A350 model until 2014, the London Times reported, citing senior figures in the aviation industry.
The aircraft, which has been earmarked compete with Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner, has already been sent back for a redesign and was due to come into service in 2012.
Aviation sources told the newspaper it is now accepted within the EADS unit that the first A350s will not be delivered in 2012, but in late 2013 or 2014.
Airbus, which is due to announce the industrial launch of the plane in the next few weeks, said that any talk of a slip in the launch date was ‘just speculation’.
